I only just want to reset my computer to the factory settings so I can feel that my computer is once again mine and not a teenagers domain.
My wanna be computer whiz moved out home. How can I reset my computer to the factory settings. His taste not mine
On window start the computer and press the F10 key surrounded by here you will set it back to factory settings.
Use system restore. Start> All Prog> Accessories> sys Tools> System restore> There contained by the calendar select a previous date in bold that you want ur system to reverse to
within could be two ways
first: when you start the computer look for start system restore hit f 11 or something of that nature.
second: find the artistic restore CD's, and get the one tarnished disk one or operating system. with the computer on, put that disc into the cd drive and restart it. next to any luck it will get to a eyeshade that asks if you want to boot from the hard drive or the cd. here you would pick boot from the cd and follow the prompts
Or you could format.
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.subsidise up any critical data that you may own on the system. The previous suggestions will work (medic391's answer is the best so far) however you might lose your data. Not to mention you will also hold to reinstall any programs that weren't pre-installed and run all your window updates (please tell me you own high speed internet.if this will take you forever.hours)
If it be me.i would go medic391's route. Good luck.
