an estimate, your looking around lb700 thats roughly $1500 US for a good one, because they want better parts, faster to load RAM better proccessors because they own more demands put on them and better parts are always more expensive
Shouldnt do as the parts are almost indistinguishable, I built a media center ending week, it did cost a bit more than buying from Dell, but it had the right parts inside for what I needed to do.
Generally yes. This is due to the certainty a true media computer contains several things such as a good tv tuner, a pretty wearing clothes sound card so you can wallow in the stuff you are watching. Also media computers should be more powerful since you will be using programs and stuff that will see you to record programs, possibly even edit and what not.



So for example, abundantly of media comptuers come next to tv tuners so you will not only be be capable of watch the programs but also diary it and rewatch it later if you get hold of my drift. Like Carbonfrost Systems they have two models, Surfer and Reflect that I will use for a price example. The Surfer is your more regular desktop while the Reflect is a medium comptuer meant for society like surrounded by college and what not.



In terms of price, the most expensive Surfer is more or less $525 and the least expensive Reflect is $675. But surrounded by that $150 you get bigger disk space, faster processor, a dual core processor so you can do multiple apps and also a tv tuner.
