I enjoy a high speed cable modem nouns, that for some odd use makes my xp come out of stand by, if i disconnect the modem, it stays on stand by, but i dont want to save disconnecting the modem. Does anyone know how i can set it up so that my internet remains connected and my computer remains on stand by mode?

Get into your System Properties by right clicking on the My Computer icon and clicking properties.
Click the Hardware tab, and afterwards the Device Manager button.
Click the + next to Network Adapters and double click on your introduce yourself adapter in the chronicle.
Under the Power Management tab, there's a check box for Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby
Just uncheck it and you should be set :)
Go to your NIC(network interface card) property option, from nearby, you'll see an option where on earth they ask you if you want internet into a wake on mode whereas it wake up your computer once it is connected to internet or having some type of alerts thus wake up your computer from stand by.
