Find out what audio chipset your system is using and download a up to date driver for it. If you don't know what chipset you have, check your system's devices underneath (icon) My Computer (right click) > properties > hardware (tab) > Device Manager (button) > Sound Video and Game Adapters (category in the list).



Your adapter should show up within the list, such as Realtek, Sound Blaster, etc... You can dig out for that chipset's website and download the latest drivers for that audio chipset.



Also, you shouldn't run more than one audio application at once (ie: music and a video game). It sometimes confuses your computer's audio chipset.
