PC automatically shuts down???
You might need a spanking new power supply.
r u sure you didnt mess with the cooling unit open you notebook see if the fans r working right but for reconnect the HD. some time **** is not compatable
my name is mike g too, probably power supply, you can buy them cheap online, win a 250 watt or over.
I would quickly check to see if its your Windows power coordination. Go to windows control panel, next 'Power options'. In this new skylight you willl see under what circumstances window will automatically power down your computer. You may just see your problem here.
Alternatively your computer is overheating due to a chasis jammed with dust and lint. Unplug your workstation and use a standard phillips screwdriver to unscrew the top and bottom screws stale the right side of your case (facing from behind). The side panel will slide past its sell-by date. If you look inside chances are you will see alot of dust bunnies. Blast it out near a can of compressed air (bought at any electronics store), or a COLD spine dryer.
